The phenomenon of illegal occupation of sidewalks by electric bicycles continues despite repeated prohibitions. Especially in the rush hour, the electric bicycle driving on the road compresses the pedestrian space, disturbs the traffic order and affects the road traffic efficiency. In addition, some people also ride electric bicycles retrograde at will, which has potential safety hazards.

It is suggested that relevant departments should formulate remediation plans according to local conditions to better balance the relationship between electric bicycle driving and pedestrian traffic. For example, the construction of non motorized lanes can be optimized by installing isolation barriers and road sinking reconstruction, so that it is feasible for electric bicycles to have special roads. On the roads without non motorized lanes, further strengthen the awareness of car owners to drive normally on the right side of the roadway, and increase the density and intensity of patrol by managers.
